The Stix will be conducting a Softball Skills Clinic on Saturday, March 13th from 9:00-Noon at T&C. The clinic is FREE to all registered T&C Softball Players and $25 for non-registered players. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with high school softball players who play for the Texas Stix Gold Teams.

If a player registers by the end of the registration period, the $25 would be refunded. Parents should RSVP directly to softball@townandcountryoptimist.org and provide their daughter’s name and age. Additional information will be sent via email prior to the clinic.

 This weekend, Stix alumni, Brittany Mack & her LSU team will be playing in Austin at the University of Texas Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational. Brittany is a 2007 graduate of Westwood HS and the Stix. She is a sophomore at LSU - #44. 14 White
The Texas Stix 14U White is looking for one or two players to add to the roster for spring/summer 2010. We are looking mainly for girls with strong, consistent bats and will consider all positions including pitcher and catcher. We can give lots of pitching time to the right dominant pitcher. We will be having open practice/tryouts on January 17th and January 24th at Town and Country Optimist sports complex located at 9100 Meadowheath Drive, Austin 78729. Our team is located in NW Austin/Cedar park with girls from NW Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, and Liberty Hill.

10 Navy
The Texas Stix 10U Navy team comprised of ‘99 birth year girls is looking to add 1 solid hitter to the roster for the spring season and beyond. We would consider a dominant pitcher or catcher if they are also strong hitters. The team has girls from Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and NW Austin. We practice in NW Austin and we play generally two tournaments a month including ASA qualifiers.
Coaches for this team have coached a combined 20+ years of softball from coach pitch through 18U Gold. Our head coach does not have a daughter on the team.

10 White - New Stix Team
Our new Texas Stix White team will be having an open tryout to fill 5 roster positions.  We are looking for pitchers, catchers and / or strong utility players. Prefer 99’s but strong 00 are welcome. Tryouts will be held at Brushy Creek Sports Park in Cedar Park January 9th and 16th from 2:00 pm - 4:00pm.  The park is located at the corner of Parmer and Brushy Creek.  If you have any questions contact

The Texas Stix Fastpitch Club provides a positive atmosphere for young female athletes to develop their softball skills while buiding their confidence and self esteem. The Stix provide coaching positions to current and former college softball players to prepare our Stix players for high school and college ball.  Updated information about each Stix team is listed on the Team Page of the website. During the 2010 season the Stix will feature 11 teams, including three 18 Under Gold teams, and national and regional 16 and 14 under teams this year. Our younger teams will continue to grow and develope and feed our older teams during future years.

Our older teams will continue to be coached by current and former college softball players. Our younger teams will continue to play high level tournaments in Dallas and Houston to prepare the players for varsity high school softball.  Recruiting continues to be a high priority for the Stix. Twenty-four of our players have signed with College Softball Programs since our Class of 2007 - 7 from the Class of 2009; 12 from the Class of 2008; and 5 from the Class of 2007. College Coaches are invited to visit the Stix Recruiting Page which lists the profiles of 50 of our players, including 10 seniors.

In 2010, our 18 Gold teams will be playing in the major fall and summer showcases including but not limited to the Easton Elite Showcases, the Ronald McDonald Showcase and showcases in Colorado and other locations.  The Stix depend on the volunteer efforts of its coaches and monthly dues paid by the Stix families. The Stix participate in fundraising efforts and seeks financial support from sponsors throughout the community.  Please visit our Sponsors section to see how you can help our team. 

Congratulations to our youngest team - 10 Under Stix Navy, for their 2nd place finish at the Triple Play Classic Tournament September 26 in Georgetown.  After losing their first elimination game Saturday, the team won 4 back to back games to advance to the championship game.  Including 2 pool games, the championship game was our girls’ 8th consecutive game.      Well done girls and thanks for setting the standard for all our Stix teams!

Congratulations to our 14 Under Stix Teal (Whittington) team for their 2nd place finish at the Slide into Fall tournament held in Waco, September 5th and 6th. Next up for the team is the 7th Annual Harvest Fest September 19th in Temple. Good luck!

Our Stix 12 Undr Petty Team took 2nd at the Can You Beat the Heat Tournament on June 27th in Austin. Congratulatons!

Congratulations to our 14 Stix Whittington for their 3rd place finish at the July 11th Alva Jo Fischer Tournament in San Antonio.

Our 14 Stix Whittington started the season January 24th in Seguin and have continued to play 2 tournaments a month in the Central Texas Area.  Highlights include a 2nd place finish at the 2009 February Kick-Off in Seguin and 2 recent 3rd place finishes in June at Summer Slam in Waco and Knock it Out in San Marcos.  The team finishes it’s 2009 season this weekend in San Antonio.  Good Luck!

Four teams represented the Stix at the Capitol of Texs College Showcase & Skills Camp held at Krieg Fields June 13 & 14.  It was sunny, hot and humid.  Thanks to the Stix 18 Gold, Stix 18 ATX Gold, Stix 16 National & our young Stix 16 Teal for playing in the tournament.  And thanks to the Stix families for working the entrance gates and for selling food and drinks at the tournament.
