National Signing Day - Samantha Beeson & Haylee Staton to UTSA; Amanda Wilhelm to Angelo State!

Congratulations to seniors Haylee Staton, Samantha Beeson & Amanda Wilhelm for signing their National Letters of Intent to play college softball in 2009. Haylee and Samantha signed with the University of Texas at San Antonio. Amanda has signed with Angelo State University. They play for the Stix 18 Gold Team.
Haylee started with the Stix 10 Under Team and has played for the Stix 18 Gold team since 2005. At Westwood High School, Haylee is a 3 year varsity starter. A versatile player, Haylee pitches and plays in the infield and outfield.
Samantha is a 3 year varsity member of state finalist/runner up Bowie High School and plays for the Stix 18 Gold Team. She plays first base and in the outfield.

Softball Skills Clinic September 6th For Younger Players

Back to the Base-ics Softball Skills Clinic
This is a clinic for Shetland (T-Ball), Pinto (Coach Pitch), and Mustang (10U Fastpitch) girls. Instruction will focus on the fundamentals of the game in each division. If you are a new player or a returning player, this clinic is for you!

Open Practice For 12 Under ‘97 Navy Announced

The Texas Stix 12U Neves / ’97 Navy will be holding a 2 hour open practice for 12U Fastpitch Softball Players at McNeil High School on Sunday August 3rd beginning @ 2PM.
The coaches expect the HOT Central Texas sun to be at full strength so PLEASE remember sunscreen, sunglasses, visor and plenty of WATER! Please remember to bring your own equipment including your cleats and wear cool comfortable practice attire.
We are very excited about our upcoming fall season and look forward to seeing you and your daughter there. Please call for directions or additional information.

Samantha Beeson Commits To UTSA in 2009!

Congratulations to Bowie Junior, Samantha Beeson, for her decision to committ to the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2009.
Samantha is a member of state finalist/runner up Bowie and plays for the Texas Stix 18 Gold. She was named to the All Central Texas 1st Team and the 2nd team in District 25-5A. Samantha is the 2nd player from the Class of 2009 to make her college commitment. Congratulations Samantha!

Alyson Pulver to Southwestern University!

Congratulations to Vista Ridge Senior Alyson Pulver for her decision to play softball next season at Southwestern University.
Alyson, named to the 2007 All State 1st team, plays for the Texas Stix Gold ATX. Alyson has also been a key player for the Vista Ridge Rangers. This season the team was one game away from the state finals before losing to district rival Dripping Springs.
Alyson is the 11th Stix senior to commit to play softball in college. Congratulations Alyson!

16 National Team Off To Strong Start

Congratulations to our 16 National Team for their strong play at the Mustang Stampede in Temple and the Hall of Fame Qualifier in Midland. The team finished in 4th place in both tournaments. Next up for the team is the ASA “A” Qualifier in Katy June 6 - 8.

Coach Tiffany Gates Softball Camp June 16 - 19

Westwood Coach Tiffany Gates will be holding a 4 day summer softball camp at Town & Country for players between the ages of 6 thru 12. Each Camper:
Gets a T-Shirt & needs to bring a glove, bat, helmet, water bottle, and sunscreen.
Camp Information
Date: June 16-19 Monday-Thursday (Rain / Make Up Date is Friday, the 20th)
Time: 9am-12pm
Place: T&C Fields
Ages: 6-12
Cost: $150.00 per athlete

Stix Golf Tournament Set For June 16th

The first annual Stix Golf Tournament will be held on June 16 at the Avery Ranch Golf Club. Registration opens at 11:30 am for the 1:30 pm Shotgun Start. There will be a buffet lunch, silent auction and putting contest.
Format: 4 player Texas Scramble Cost: $125.00 per player.
Includes: Green fees, ½ cart, Buffet Lunch, Silent Auction, putting contest, range balls, longest drive and multiple closest to the pin contests.
Prizes: Top 5 teams, multiple closest to the pin, longest drive, putting contest.
